Anatomy and Appearance
Males - chocolate brown, weight 850 pounds, height 7 feet, length 2.1 feet.
Females - golden brown, weight 220 pounds, height 6 feet, length 1.8 feet.
Diet
They eat fish, salmon, and sardines.
They are omnivore's.
Life Cycle
Sea Lions do well in captivity.
They live up to 30 years in captivity.
They live up to 20 years in the wild.
Reproduction and Young
Most are born in June or July.
The cubs weigh 13 to 20 pounds.
They nurse for 6 months or a year.
Behavior
They are social animals.
Groups stay close together on the surface. Sometimes they jump out of water and that makes them go faster.
